We know the wind rules a door has to meet here, and they change with your county. A home in Miami-Dade or Broward needs a door with a product approval for its wind rating, such as a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance. A home in Palm Beach County needs a Florida product approval, and impact protection if the door isn't impact-rated. Those are the doors we install.
In Palm Beach County, a door that's already impact-rated leaves no separate impact protection to arrange, and that door is our Hurricane-Rated (Impact) Doors. Strong wind tends to find the garage door first, which is why this choice counts. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, which makes the months before it a natural time to plan a door upgrade.
Not every damaged door needs replacing. When damage is limited to one panel and the panels around it are sound, our Panel Replacement can be enough, though a new panel may not match faded sections. If a storm is what damaged the door, ask for our Storm Damage service.
